Bathroom and Kitchen Remodeling

Remodeling means different things depending on scope. A cosmetic update — new vanity, faucet, mirror, paint, and hardware — takes two to three days in a bathroom. A full gut remodel where we're moving plumbing, replacing the tub or shower, retiling everything, and installing new fixtures is a multi-week job that'll need licensed plumbing and electrical work for anything behind the walls.

Kitchen backsplashes are a common request. We prep the wall, set tile in thinset, let it cure overnight, then grout. A standard backsplash behind a stove and counter takes a day and a half. If you want tile all the way to the ceiling or wrapping around windows, add time.

Cabinet installs depend on whether they're stock, semi-custom, or custom. Stock cabinets from a big-box store come flat-packed and we assemble and install them. That's a multi-day job for a full kitchen — assemble, level, shim, screw together, then mount countertops. If the countertop is laminate, we can template and install it. Stone or quartz countertops get templated by the supplier and installed by their crew; we coordinate but don't cut or set stone.

Vanity swaps are straightforward if the new one is the same size. If you're changing sizes, we'll need to patch drywall, move plumbing, or adjust the flooring. We'll let you know before we start if there are going to be extra steps.

Plumbing fixture installs — faucets, toilets, sinks — we handle if it's a direct swap. If you need new supply lines run or drain lines moved, that's a licensed plumber in Florida. We'll coordinate with one if needed, or you can hire them separately and we'll work around their schedule.

Bathroom tile work includes shower surrounds, tub surrounds, and floor tile. We use cement board as the substrate in wet areas, set tile with thinset mortar, and grout with sanded or unsanded grout depending on the joint width. Proper waterproofing behind the tile is critical in Florida — skip it and you'll have mold and rot within a year.

Kitchen and bathroom demolition is included in remodel jobs. We pull old cabinets, vanities, fixtures, and flooring, and haul the debris away. If there's asbestos or lead paint, that needs special handling and we'll point you to someone who does abatement.
